Lise öğrencilerinde şiddet eğilimi ve etkileyen faktörler

Abstract

Amaç: Araştırma, Nevşehir’in Avanos ilçesinde öğrenim gören lise öğrencilerinin şiddet eğilimi düzeyini ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma, tanımlayıcı tipte olup, evreni Nevşehir ili Avanos ilçesindeki lise öğrencilerinin (N=849 kişi) tamamı oluşturmuştur. Örneklem seçimine gidilmeyip, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden öğrencilerin tamamı (n=796 kişi) dahil edilmiştir (% 93.7). Veriler, sosyodemografik özelliklere ve şiddet eğilimine ilişkin soruların yer aldığı anket formu ve Şiddet Eğilim Ölçeği kullanılarak, ilgili kurumlardan izin alındıktan sonra toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde sayı, yüzde dağılımı, Mann Whitney-U ve Kruskal Wallis testleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 16.37±1.05 ve % 49.6’sı kızdır. Öğrencilerin % 90.2’sinin anne ve babası birlikte yaşamaktadır. Öğrencilerin % 21.7’si daha önce şiddete maruz kaldığını belirtmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin şiddet eğilim düzeyi puan ortalaması 43.95±12.49’dur. Öğrencilerin % 48.9’unun şiddet eğilim düzeyinin fazla, % 37.5’inin az ve sadece % 3’ünün çok az olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Erkek öğrencilerin ve şiddete maruz kalanların şiddet eğilim düzeyi daha yüksek bulunurken (p<0.05), ebeveyn eğitim düzeyi, ebeveyn tutumu, gelir durumu açısından şiddet eğilimleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Sonuç: Öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun şiddet eğilim düzeylerinin “fazla” olduğu, erkeklerin şiddete daha eğilimli olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the level of violence tendency and related factors of high school students in Avanos province of Nevşehir. Methods: The research was descriptive and the universe consisted entirely of high school students (N = 849 people) in the province of Avanos in Nevşehir province. All of the students who agreed to participate in the survey (n = 796 people) were included in the sample selection (93.7%). The data were collected after obtaining permission from the relevant institutions, using a scale on violence tendencies and questions on socio-demographic characteristics and trends in violence. Number, percentage distribution, Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: The average age of the students who participated in the survey was 16.37 ± 1.05 and 49.6% were girls. 90.2% of the students live with their parents. 21.7% of the students stated that they had been exposed to violence before. The average level of the students' level of violence tendency is 43.95 ± 12.49. 48.9 % of the students had more violence tendency, 37.5% few, and only 3% were found to be very few. There was no statistically significant difference between violent tendencies in terms of parental education level, parental attitude and income status (p> 0.05), while male students and those exposed to violence had a higher level of violence tendency (p <0.05). Conclusion: The majority of students have come to the conclusion that the levels of violence are "too high" and that men are more tendency to violence.
