dc.description.abstract This study presents a preliminary assessment of black-glazed pottery found at Kültepe, one of the most popular ceramic groups of the Hellenistic period. All examples are of Attic origin, produced with well-refined red clay. The glaze is a shiny black. Represented by eight different forms, this group consists of incurving or outturned rim bowls, saucers, plates, fish-plates, kantharoi, gutti, and oil lamps. The earliest examples among the pieces assessed date to the last quarter of the 4th century BC, while ceramics belonging to the first half of the 3rd century predominate. tr_TR
