Birinci Haçlı Seferi ve Bizans (İmparator Alexios Komnenos dönemi)

Abstract

Bizans tarihinde önemli imparatorlardan biri olan I. Alexios Komnenos, Bizans İmparatorluğunun dağılmakta olduğu bir zamanda askeri sınıfla beraber Bizans tahtına geçmiş ve imparatorluğun çeşitli düşmanlarına karşı ülkesini sonuna kadar diplomatik ve askeri hamlelerle muhafaza etmiştir. Normanlardan olan Robert Guiscard onun rakiplerinden biri olmuş. I. Alexios Komnenos onunla mücadele edebilmek için ittifaklar yapmıştır. Onun döneminde Selçuklu Türkleri, Bizans topraklarının aleyhine yayıldılar ve bunun neticesinde I. Alexios Komnenos ilk Haçlı Seferinin ortaya çıkmasında etkin bir rol oynadı. Bu İlk Haçlı Seferi, Anadolu'daki Türk üstünlüğüne son vererek Antakya, Urfa ve Kudüs bölgelerinde Haçlı yönetimlerinin oluşmasına neden olmuştur. I. Alexios Komnenos, Bizans İmparatorluğunun yıkılmasını böylece uzun bir süre önleyebilmiştir. Meydana gelen bu ilk Haçlı Seferi ile Anadolu'daki Türk gücü durdu ve birçok Selçuklu ülkesi Bizans ve Haçlıların yönetimi altına girdi. Askeri aristokrasiden gelen I. Alexios Komnenos ve onun başlattığı Komnenoslar sülalesi Bizans İmparatorluğu tarihinde alınan yeni bir soluk dönemi olarak tarif edilebilir.
