Kapadokya'da butik otel işletmeciliğinin gelişimi ve sorunları

Abstract

Tarihi ve doğal çevreyle uyumlu ve çevreye zarar vermeden inşa edilen ya da eski ev ve benzeri yapıların restore edilmesi suretiyle turizme kazandırılan tesis türüne örnek olan butik oteller; günümüzde özellikle üst gelir grubundan yerli ve yabancı turistlerin konaklama tesisi tercihlerinde ön plana çıkmaktadır. Türkiye’de tarihi dokunun turizme yönelik kullanımının artan biçimde görüldüğü bölgelerden birisi de hiç şüphesiz Kapadokya turistik bölgesidir. Özellikle son on yılda, bölgedeki otelcilik anlayışında değişmeler gözlenmekte ve eski evler restore edilerek butik otel tarzı konaklama işletmeleri olarak faaliyete geçirilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, butik otel kavramı, butik otellerin sundukları hizmetler ve özellikleri, dünyada ve Türkiye’de butik otel işletmeciliğinin gelişimi ele alındıktan sonra, Kapadokya bölgesindeki butik otel işletmeciliği üzerinde durulacaktır. Konuyla ilgili bir alan araştırması tasarlanmış olup; başta Ürgüp, Göreme, Avanos, Uçhisar ilçelerindeki butik oteller olmak üzere, bölgedeki butik otel sahip ve yöneticileriyle, nitel araştırma tekniklerinden, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yoluyla, butik otel işletmeciliğinin sorunları ortaya konulmuştur.

Boutique hotels which are given as examples for accommodation facilities built without harming the environment and in harmony with history and natural environment or open to tourism through the restoration of old houses or similar structures stand out in the preference of accommodation of local or foreign tourists especially in the upper income class. Cappadocia is one of the regions where historical environ ment is increasingly used in tourism. Particularly in the last decade, there have been changes in the understanding of hospitality in the region and old houses have been restored and run as boutique hotel-style accommodation facilities. In this study, after the concept of boutique hotel, the services they offer and their features, development of boutique hotels in Turkey and in the world are introduced, boutique hotels management in Cappadocia will be emphasized. A related field study is designed and a semi-structured interview, one of the qualitative research techniques, is carried out with the owners and managers of the boutique hotels in the region especially in Ürgüp, Göreme, Avanos and Uçhisar and the problems of boutique hotels will be presented.
