İlkokul 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumları

Abstract

İlköğretim birinci kademeden itibaren öğretilmeye başlanan sosyal bilgiler dersi, öğrencilerin yaşamla ilgili görüş ve düşüncelerinin oluşmasında temel teşkil etmektedir. Sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik öğrencilerin olumlu ya da olumsuz tutum sergilemelerinde birçok faktör etkili olabilmektedir. Öğretmenin öğrencilere karşı davranışlarında olumlu bir tutuma sahip olması ve demokratik davranışlar göstermesi, öğrencinin hazır bulunuşluk düzeyinin yüksek olması sosyal bilgiler dersine olan ilgisini arttırmakta, öğrencilerin olumlu tutum sergilemesini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Öğrencilerin düzeyine uygun olarak eğitim ortamının düzenlenmesi, ders araç-gereç ve materyalin kullanımı da öğrencilerin derse karşı olumlu tutum geliştirmesine sebep olmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacı; ilkokulların dördüncü sınıfında okuyan öğrencilerin, sosyal bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemektir. Bu araştırmanın yöntemi betimseldir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2010–2011 eğitimöğretim yılı Kırşehir'in merkez ve ilçelerindeki İlköğretim okullarında okuyan 4. Sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler dersi 1–5. sınıflar öğretim programı”’nda hazırlanmış olan “İlköğretim Öğrencilerinin Sosyal Bilgiler Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ölçek 178 öğrenciye uygulanmış, elde edilen verilerin analizleri SPSS paket programında değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin genel olarak sosyal bilgiler dersine karşı olumlu tutum sergiledikleri, bazı konularda ise olumsuz tutuma sahip oldukları söylenebilir.

The Social studies course taught at the first stage of primary education provides a basis for forming students’ ideas and opinions about life. Many different factors can be effective for developing the students’ positive or negative attitudes to this course. Teachers’ positive attitudes in their behaviours to students and their democratic manners and high level of readiness increase the interests of students to this course and help students adopt positive manners. Also, suitable educational environment and the usage of course equipments and materials cause students have positive manners toward the course. The aim of this descriptive study was to determine the manners of the fourth grade primary school students against social studies course. The sample of this research is consisted of the fourth grade students from Kırşehir city in 2010-2011 school year. In this research, “The Scale of Manner to Social Studies Course for Primary School Students” that was prepared for “ The Ministry of Education Primary School Social Studies Course 1-5. Grades Curriculum” was used as the data collection tool. The scale was applied to 178 students and the gathered data was analysed by using SPSS package. The results of the study indicated that the majority of the students do have positive attitudes toward the social sciences course.
