Ortaokul öğrencilerinin terör kavramına yönelik metaforik algıları

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin terör kavramına ilişkin metaforik algılarının tespit edilmesidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Nevşehir ilinde Özel Nevşehir Uğur Okulları'nda 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında 5., 6., 7. ve 8. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan, kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem grubu yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenen toplam 97 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden "durum çalışması" kullanılarak yürütülen araştırmada, veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan "Terör …… benzer. Çünkü ……" cümlesini tamamlayacakları bir form kullanılmıştır. Bu formlar aracılığı ile öğrencilerin terör kavramına ilişkin olarak geliştirdikleri metaforlar ve bu metaforların ortak özellikleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Uygulamaya başlamadan önce gerekli yasal izinler alınmıştır. Toplam 98 öğrenciye ait veri, nitel araştırma yöntemine uygun olarak içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde nitel araştırma desenine uygun olarak içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin terör kavramına ilişkin olarak geliştirdikleri metaforlar beş kategoriye ayrılmıştır. Bu kategoriler "zarar verici/yok edici unsur olarak terör", "kötülük simgesi olarak terör", "doğa unsuru olarak terör", "hayvansal bir figür olarak terör" ve "olumsuz bir deneyim olarak terör" şeklinde sıralanabilir. The aim of this research is to determine the metaphoric perception with regard to the terror Notion of the high school students. The study group of the research is formed by 97 students who 6th, 7th and 8th graaders and who were chosen through convenient sampling method who are studying in 2018-2019 educational years in Private Ugur Schools in Nevsehir Province. In the research which is conducted by using phenomenology which is one of qualitative, a form was used in which the sentence to be completed 'Terror is ….., because …..' as data collection tool that was prepared by the researchers. Through these forms, the metaphors that the students created based upon the terror concept and the common point were tried to detect. Were tried to be detected. Before applying it, all legal permissions were obtained 97 data. Data that belong to 97 students were subjected to content analysis in accordance with the qualitative research method. In the assessment of data gained content analysis was used according to the qualitative research pattern. The metaphors which the students created based upon the terror concept are divided into five categories. These can be sorted as 'terror as harming/destroying elements', 'terror as a symbol of evil', 'terror as a natural element', 'terror as an animal figure' and 'terror as a bad experience'.
