Bu çalışma kapsamında Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı, Nevşehir ve Ürgüp Müze Müdürlüğü tescilli kültür varlıkları olan ve Kapadokya bölgesinde yer alan 8-20 nci yüzyıllarda inşa edilmiş 8 (sekiz) kilisenin duvar resimlerinden 9 tanesi kaya, 9 tanesi sıva ve 44 tanesi pigment olmak üzere 3 farklı tipte toplam 61 örnek alındı. Alınan örnekler Atom Enerji Kurumu Laboratuvarlarında bulunan cihazlar ile spektoroskopik yöntemler kullanılarak (µ-XRF, µ-Raman, µ-FTIR ile) analiz edildi. Kaya örneklerinin µ-XRF sonuçlarında; Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S ve Zn elementleri, sıva örneklerinin µ-XRFsonuçlarında Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S, Zn, P ve Si elementleri, pigment örneklerinin µ-XRF sonuçlarında ise Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S, Zn, P, Si, Cu, As, Ba, Hg ve Pb elementleri bulundu. Duvar resimlerinin sıva örneklerinin µ-Raman ve µ-FTIR analiz sonuçlarında 8-20 nci yüzyıl kilise duvar resimlerindeki sıvaların alçı ve kireç kökenli olduğu, duvar resimlerinden alınan pigment örneklerinin µ-XRF ve µ-Raman analiz sonuçlarında ise karbon siyahı, lazurit, kırmızı okra (kahve-kırmızı demir oksit), sarı okra (sarı demir oksit), vermilyon ve minyum pigmentlerinin kullanıldığı tespit edildi.
Within the scope of this study,3 different type of samples (9 rock samples, 9 mortar samples and 44 pigment samples) totally 61 samples were taken from the wall paintings of 8 churches built in the 8th-20th centuries in the Cappadocia region which are registered in the cultural assets of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Nevşehir and Ürgüp Museum Directorate. The samples were analyzed by using spectoroscopic method (µ-XRF, µ-Raman, µ-FTIR) with the devices at Atomic Energy Authority. According to the µ-XRF results; Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S ve Zn elements were found in the rock samples; Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S, Zn, P ve Si were found in the mortar samples and Ca, Fe, K, Ti, Mn, Sr, Ba, Rb, S, Zn, P, Si, Cu, As, Ba, Hg ve Pb elements were found in the pigment samples. The µ-Raman and µ-FTIR analysis results of the mortar samples of the 8th-20th century churchesshowed that their origions were gypsum and lime. Carbon black, lazurite, red ocher, yellow ocher (brown-yellow-red iron oxide), vermilion and minium pigments were found in the µ-XRF and µ-Raman analysis results of the pigment samples taken from the wall paintings.
