Afyon müzesi’nde bulunan Roma dönemi hekate grubu adak heykelcikleri

Abstract

Hekate Olymposlu tanrılar grubunda yer almayan ve kendine ait bir efsaneyi barındırmayan bir tanrıçadır. Hekate Phrygia’da önemli bir tapım yerine sahiptir. Hekate buluntuları bölgede yerel kutsal alanların varlığını göstermektedir. Heykelcikler için belirlenen tipolojik ve stil özellikleri ile birlikte ikonografik değerlendirilmeler ışığında bölgedeki ya da yerleşim yerindeki inanç yapısını ve adak kültürünü belirlemektir. Phrygia Bölgesi’nde yer alan Afyonkarahisar’da bulunan ve bugün Afyon Müzesi’nde sergilenen altı adet Hekate heykelinin ikonografik ve stilistik analizi yapılmıştır. Bu heykelciklerin; dört adeti Hekate iki adeti Meter Tetraprosopos’tan oluşmaktadır. Afyon Müzesi’nde sergilenen altı adet Hekate heykeli Roma Dönemi’ne aittir. Bu heykelcikler nitelik ve kalite açısından değerlendirildiğinde Dokimeon atölyesine ait heykelcikler olduğu görülmektedir.

Hecate is a goddess who does not take part in the group of the Olympian gods and does not have his own legend. Hecate has an important place of worship in Phrygia. Hecate finds indicate the presence of local sanctuaries in the region. In the light of iconographic evaluations in addition to the typological and style characteristics determined for statuettes, the belief structure and votive culture in the region or settlement region were identified. Iconographic and stylistic analysis of six Hecate statues in Afyonkarahisar, located in the Phrygia Region, and now on display at the Afyon Museum, was conducted. These statuettes consist of four Hecate and two Meter Tetraprosopos. These six Hecate sculptures exhibited at the Afyon Museum belong to the Roman period. When these statuettes are evaluated in terms of features and quality, it is seen that they are belonging to Dokimeon workshop.
