Development of Matlab/GUI based analysis tool for wind turbines

Abstract

Developing countries are tending to alternative energy resources to generate the required energy since fossil-based fuel reserves are decreasing. Wind, which is one of the alternative energy resources, is preferred at the first rank, because it can easily be converted to the desired types of energy. In this study, the analysis tool is developed by using Matlab/GUI to make various analyses of wind turbines. The developed interface allows users to easily enter the required parameters and the calculated results are fedback to users over graphical interface. Furthermore, the tool may be used for educational purposes. It is aimed to obtain much more faster and reliable results in wind turbine analysis that is not previously developed with GUI in this field.
