Evliya Çelebi Seyahatnamesi'nin sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programında yer alan tarih ile ilgili kazanımlar üzerinden incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul 4. sınıf ile ortaokul 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programında yer alan tarih ile ilgili kazanımlar üzerinden Evliya Çelebi Seyahatnamesi'nin incelenmesidir. Bu amacın gerçekleştirilmesi için nitel araştırma desenlerinden doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın veri kaynağını Evliya Çelebi'nin Seyahatnamesiyle ilkokul 4. sınıf ile ortaokul 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programlarında yer alan tarih ile ilgili kazanımlar oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacı tarafından öncelikle, Seyyah-ı Alem Evliya Çelebi'nin Seyahatnamesi'nin aslına uygun çevirisi tercih edilmiştir. Seyahatname, ayrıntılı olarak okunmuş, muhtemel örnek olaylar belirlenmiştir. Tespit edilen örnek olaylar, aslına uygun olarak günümüz Türkçesine çevrilmiştir. Bu kapsamda, kazanımlar ve örnek olaylar tablolara dönüştürülmüştür. Ayrıca, ders sürecinde bir kazanım üzerinden örnek olaylar için uygulamaya dönük, her sınıf düzeyinde birer ders planı örneği hazırlanmıştır. Böylece, ders yapan öğretmenler tarafından sunulacak kazanımların, öğrenci dünyasında somut ve anlaşılır hale gelmesi amaçlanmıştır. 2018 yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığınca yenilenen sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programında yer alan, 13 öğrenme alanından tarih ile ilgili toplam 34 kazanım belirlenmiştir. Evliya Çelebi'nin 7.888 sayfadan oluşan Seyahatnamesi incelendiğinde, genel olarak 1.829 tane örnek olay tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen bu örnek olaylar, ilkokul 4. sınıf ile ortaokul 5., 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programlarında yer alan tarih ile ilgili kazanımlarla eşleştirilmiştir. Yapılan eşleştirmede, 446 örnek olayın kazanımlara karşılık geldiği görülmüştür. Belirlenen kazanımlar ile tespit edilen örnek olaylar eşleştirildiğinde; bazı kazanımlara karşılık gelen çok sayıda örnek olay olduğu, bazı kazanımlara karşılık gelen örnek olay sayısının ise az olduğu görülmüştür. Sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretim programındaki kazanımların somutlaştırılması amacıyla, Seyahatnameden tespit edilen örnek olayların uygun olduğu söylenebilir. Seyahatnamede yer alan örnek olayların; öğrencilerin derslerde daha etkin hale gelmesi, empati yapması, eleştirel düşünmesi, karşılaştırma yapması, geçmiş ile günümüz arasında bağ kurması, kendini ifade etmesi, öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulması için önemli olduğu, derslerde etkin ve verimli bir şekilde kullanılabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Seyahatnamede yer alan hikâye ve örnek olay zenginliği dikkate alındığında, diğer dersler için de bu tür çalışmaların yapılması önerilebilir.

The aim of this research is to examine Evliya Çelebi's Travel Book through the acquisitions related to history in the primary school 4th grade and in the secondary school 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies curriculum. In order to achieve this aim, document analysis from qualitative research designs was used. The data source of the study is Evliya Çelebi's Travel Book and the acquisitions related to history included in the social studies curriculum of primary school 4th grade and secondary school 5th, 6th and 7th grades. First of all, the original translation of Evliya Çelebi's Travel Book was preferred by the researcher. The travel book was read in detail and possible case studies were determined. The case studies determined were translated into contemporary Turkish in accordance with their originals. In this context, the achievements and the case studies were turned into the tables. In addition, a sample lesson plan was prepared for each grade level for practical use of the case studies based on an achievement in the course process. Thus, it was aimed to make the achievements to be presented by teachers become concrete and understandable for students. A total of 34 achievements related to history were determined from 13 learning areas in the social studies course curriculum renewed by the Ministry of National Education in 2018. When Evliya Çelebi's Travel Book consisting of 7.888 pages was examined, 1.829 case studies were identified in general. These identified case studies were matched with the achievements related to history in the primary school 4th grade and secondary school 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies curriculum. It was seen that 446 case studies had corresponded to the achievements according to the matching made. When the determined achievements and the determined case studies were matched, it was noticed that there were many case studies corresponding to some achievements, while the number of the case studies corresponding to some achievements was low. It can be said that the case studies determined from the Travel Book are appropriate in order to embody the achievements in the social studies course curriculum. It can be concluded that the case studies in the travel book are important for students to become more active in the lessons, to empathize, to think critically, to make comparisons, to establish a connection between the past and the present, to express themselves, to create learning environments and to be used effectively and efficiently in lessons. Considering the richness of the stories and the case studies in the travel book, it can be recommended to conduct such studies for other courses, too.
