Kapadokya Kültür Yolu’nun alternatif turizm rotası bağlamında değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Turizme karşı beklentilerin değişmesi, seyahat olgularının çeşitlenmesi ile kültür temelli turizm faaliyetlerine olan ilgi artış göstermektedir. Buna bağlı olarak kültür-mekân etkileşimi ve bu etkileşimin sonuçları, her geçen gün daha fazla öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Kapadokya Kültür Yolu’nun önemli bir alternatif turizm rotası olabileceğine ve yeni turizm destinasyonları oluşturabilecek potansiyeline dikkat çekmek amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca 2023 Türkiye Turizm Stratejisi’ndeki hedeflerin gerçekleştirilmesi kapsamında, turizm rotalarının önemi vurgulanmıştır. Tarama modelini odağına alan bu çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışmasına uygun olarak yürütülmüştür. Seçilen bu metodolojiye bağlı olarak ilgili literatür taranmış ve çok sayıda resmi doküman incelenmiş, benzerlik ve karşıtlık ilişkileri dikkate alınarak ikincil veriler değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca gözlem ve katılımcı gözlem yoluyla birincil veriler elde edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte rota bileşeni olabilecek kültürel varlıkların konumları ve aralarındaki mesafeler belirlenerek Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi (CBS) ortamında haritalandırılmıştır. Son olarak Kapadokya Kültür Yolu’nun güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ile sahip olduğu fırsatlar ve karşı karşıya kaldığı tehditler değerlendirilerek SWOT analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda turizm faaliyetleri ve turizm gelirleri bakımından Türkiye’nin öncü kentlerinden olan Nevşehir’de, farklı turizm rotalarına olan ilginin artması göz önüne alınarak Kapadokya Kültür Yolu ile turizm faaliyetlerinin desteklenmesi vurgulanmıştır.

With the change in expectations towards tourism and the diversification of travel phenomena, the interest in culture-based tourism activities is increasing. Accordingly, the culture-space interaction and the results of this interaction come to the fore more and more every day. This study aims to draw attention to the fact that the Cappadocia Cultural Road can be an important alternative tourism route and its potential to create new tourism destinations. In addition, the importance of tourism routes was emphasized within the scope of realizing the targets in the 2023 Tourism Strategy of Turkey. This study, which focuses on the scanning model, was carried out in accordance with the case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Based on this chosen methodology, the relevant literature was reviewed and many official documents were examined, and secondary data were evaluated by considering the similarity and contrast relations. In addition, primary data were obtained through observation and participant observation. In addition, the locations of cultural assets that can be route components and the distances between them were determined and mapped in the GIS (Geographic Information System) environment. Finally, a SWOT analysis was conducted by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the Cappadocia Cultural Road, the opportunities it has and the threats it faces. As a result of the study, taking into account the increasing interest in different tourism routes in Nevşehir, which is one of the leading cities of Turkey in terms of tourism activities and tourism revenues, supporting tourism activities with the Cappadocia Cultural Road was emphasized.
