Musahipzade Celâl’in oyunlarında moderne dönüşen gelenek

Abstract

Musahipzade Celâl önemli oyun yazarlarımızdandır. Yazar, komedi oyunlarında geleneksel Türk tiyatrosunun hem teknik hem de tip özelliklerinden yararlanmıştır. Batı tiyatrosunun sahne özelliklerini geleneksel olanla ustaca birleştirmiştir. Ortaoyunu meddah, gölge oyunu ve halk hikâyeciliği gibi halk tiyatrosu geleneğine bağlı ögeleri oyunlarında kullanmış ve yazılı metni sanatçı ustalığıyla bir anlamda meydandan sahneye taşımıştır. Musahipzade, oyunlarında mekân olarak mahalleyi kullanır. Geleneksel tiyatronun mahalle kültürüne yakın bir yaklaşımla oluşturduğu atmosferde hem eğlendiricilik vardır hem de toplumsal eleştiri. Bu çalışmada Musahipzade’nin komedi oyunlarından yola çıkarak geleneği modernle birleştiren bütüncül tavrını ortaya koymaya çalışacağız.

Musahipzade Celâl is one of the most important play writers of Turkish theatre. In his comedies, he uses both the techniques and the character types of traditional Turkish theatre. He skillfully combines stage features of modern Western theatre and traditional Turkish theatre. He uses elements related to traditional folk theatre such as ortaoyunu, meddah, Turkish shadow play and folk narration. He, through his mastery, also carries the written text to the arena. Musahipzade uses neighborhood as the setting of his plays. In the atmosphere he creates similar to the neighborhood culture in the traditional theater, there is both entertainment and social criticism. In this article, setting off from the playwright’s comedies, we will try to show the integrated approach in his attitude that combines the traditional with the modern.
