İntihar bir turizm türü olarak değerlendirilebilir mi?

Abstract

Gerek turizm gerekse sağlık yazınında son yıllarda tartışılan konulardan birisi intihar turizmi olgusudur. İntihar turizminin kavramsal çerçevesinin net bir şekilde ortaya konulamaması, söz konusu tartışmaların artmasına ve çeşitlenmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, intihar turizmi olgusuna yönelik olarak alanyazında yapılan çalışmaların derinlikli bir irdelemesi yapılmakta ve bu olguya ilişkin turizm bağlamında bir çerçeve ortaya konulmaya çalışılmaktadır. İkincil kaynakların taranması suretiyle derleme niteliğinde gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, intihar olgusunun bir turizm türü olarak nasıl ortaya çıktığına odaklanılmıştır. Ulusal yazında söz konusu kavramsal tartışmanın eksikliğinden hareketle bu çalışmanın, gelecekte yapılabilecek ampirik araştırmalara temel teşkil etmesi amaçlanmaktadır.

Suicide tourism is a phenomenon that has been recently discussed both in tourism and health literature. Discussions on suicide tourism have increased and varied, because of the conceptual framework of suicide tourism is not clearly revealed. In this study, the studies related to suicide tourism phenomenon in the literature were thoroughly scrutinized and tried to determine a framework of the phenomenon within the context of tourism. The study is a literature review and focused on how the suicide was emerged as a part of tourism by reviewing subsidiary sources in the study. It is aimed that the study is the basis of empirical studies which will be conducted, with the lack of the conceptual debates on suicide tourism in Turkish literature.
