Benlik saygısıyla boyun eğme davranışı arasındaki ilişkide denetim odağının aracı rolü

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, 11-18 yaş aralığındaki ergenlerin cinsiyeti kontrol edildiğinde, benlik saygısı düzeyinin boyun eğme davranışı düzeyini yordayıcı ilişkisinde denetim odağının aracı rolünün değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırmanın yönteminde, uygun örnekleme ile oluşturulan çalışma grubunda, ölçme araçlarından elde edilen veriler üzerinde, SPSS programı kullanılarak regresyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Samsun’da yaşayan 11 ve 18 yaş aralığındaki ergenler oluşturmuştur. Çalışma grubundaki 336 katılımcıya, Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı, Kontrol Odağı ve Boyun Eğme Davranışı ölçme araçları uygulanmıştır. Cinsiyet kontrol edildiğinde, benlik saygısının boyun eğme davranışının düzeyini yordayıcı ilişkisinde, denetim odağının aracı rolünün olduğu görülmüştür. Sobel testle değerlendirilen, kısmi aracı ilişkinin negatif yönde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak araştırma bulgularına göre yapılan değerlendirmelerde, benlik saygısı arttıkça boyun eğme davranışı düzeyinin düştüğü, devreye aracı rolüyle içten denetim odağı girdiğinde boyun eğme davranışı düzeyinin daha fazla düştüğü; benlik saygısı azaldıkça boyun eğme davranışı düzeyinin arttığı, devreye aracı rolüyle dıştan denetim odağı girdiğinde boyun eğme davranışı düzeyinin daha fazla arttığı değerlendirilmiştir.

In this study, it was examined the mediator correlation of the locus of control in the relationship between the self-esteem and submissive behaviours on the adolescents aged between 11 and 18 years. The study group consisted of adolescents aged between 11 and 18, who were determined with appropriate sampling method. In the study, Coopersmith Self-Esteem, Locus of Control and Submissive Behaviour measurement scales were applied to 336 participants. Psychometric and descriptive analysis were analysed by the means of SPSS program. Hypotheses were evaluated by regression analysis. When the gender of the 11-18 age groups was controlled, the level of self-esteem was predictive of the level of submissive behaviour. This relationship appeared to be negative. When the mediator role of the locus of control added on the model, it was seen that there was a decrease in the submissive behaviour value. Values were interpreted as a partial mediator relationship. The partial mediator relationship, which was evaluated by Sobel test, was found to be negative. According to the results, the level of submissive behaviour at a high level of self-esteem was low. It was evaluated that the level of submissive behaviour was lower when the level of internal locus of control was higher. The higher the level of self-esteem and the more internal locus of control were, the lower the level of submissive behaviour level was.
