Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir'in eserlerinde kişiler ve millî kimlik inşası

Abstract

Türk toplumu uzun süreden beri kimlik karmaşası yaşamaktadır. Öncelikle İslamiyet'in tesirinde kalır, daha sonra yüzünü Batı kültürüne çevirir ve yeni bir kimliğe bürünme çabasına girer. Dolayısıyla asırlardır taşıdığı karakteristik niteliklerinden taviz vermek ve bir kimlik bunalımının içine girmek durumuyla karşı karşıya kalır. Bu durumun ayırdına varan birçok yazar kimlik karmaşasına bir çözüm üretmek adına kalemlerine sarılır, eserlerinde kişilerini Türk toplumu için uygun gördükleri millî bir kimliğin nitelikleriyle kuşatır ve onları örnek kişi olarak sunar. Bahsi geçen yazarlardan biri de Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nde yaşamış olan Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir'dir. Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir, eserlerinde olumladığı kişilerini çoğunlukla gerçek yaşamdan ve Türk toplumunun örnek kişilerinden seçer ve onlar üzerinden millî kimlik yaratma gayretine girer. Bu nedenle onun eserlerinin önemli bir kısmı tezli eser sınıfına dâhil olur. Tezli eserlerde de kişi ögesi tezin taşıyıcısı olarak ön plana çıkar. Tezli eserlerdeki kişilerin sahip oldukları önem onları daha çok dikkate değer kılar. Çünkü okuyucuya verilmek istenen mesaj büyük oranda bu kişilerin nitelikleri biçiminde çizilir. Bu tavır, yazarın amacının anlaşılması adına ideal kişilerin çok yönlü irdelenmesini gerektirir. Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir'in de amacının net bir biçimde anlaşılması için onun kişileri de titizce ele alınmalıdır. Bundan dolayı bu çalışmada Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir'in kişileri; isim sembolizasyonu, yaş ve cinsiyet özellikleri, dil ve üslup özellikleri, düşünsel-heyecansal değerleniş, kişi-mekân ilişkisi, milliyet, kıyafet, tip özellikleri, iyiler ve kötüler çatışması, sosyal ortamı yaratmadaki etkileri, kişisel şuur-kolektif şuur paradoksu, arketipsel sembolizm bağlamlarında çok yönlü incelendi ve bu kişilerin millî kimliğe yaptığı katkı saptanmaya çalışıldı.

Turkish society has been experiencing identity confusion for a long time. Firstly, it remained under the influence of Islam, then turns its face to Western culture and tries to embrace a new identity. Therefore, it comes to face to face the situation of compromising its centuries-old characteristic qualities and entering into an identity crisis. Many authors that aware of this issue, cling to their pens in order to find a solution to identity confusion, fictionalize their people with the qualities of a national identity they deem appropriate for Turkish society, and present them as exemplary persons. One of the authors mentioned is Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir, who lived in the Period of the Republic. Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir chooses the people he affirms in his works, mostly from real life and exemplary people of Turkish society, and tries to create a national identity through them. Therefore, a significant part of his works is included in the class of works with the thesis. In the works with the thesis, the person element comes to the fore as the carrier of the thesis. The importance of the people in the works with the thesis makes them more remarkable. Because the message to be given to the reader is drawn in the form of the qualities of these people. This attitude requires a multi-faceted examination of ideal people in order to understand the author's purpose. In order for the purpose of Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir to be understood clearly, his characters should also be handled meticulously. Therefore, in this study, the characters' of Mehmed Niyazi Özdemir were examined sophisticatedly in the context of name symbolization, age, and gender characteristics, language and style features, intellectual-emotional appraisal, person-space relationship, nationality, clothing, type features, conflict of good and bad, their effects on creating a social environment, personal consciousness-collective consciousness paradox, and archetypal symbolism. It has been analyzed in many ways and it has been tried to determine the contribution of these people to national identity.
