Abstract

Osmanlı Gazetesi 1897-1904 yılları arasında yayın hayatını sürdürmüştür. Osmanlı Gazetesi II. Abdülhamit yönetimine muhalif olan İttihat Terakki Cemiyeti üyeleri tarafından çıkarılmıştır. Sultan II. Abdülhamit’in baskısı sebebiyle yayın hayatını yurt dışında sürdürmek zorunda kalmıştır. Gazete yayın hayatı boyunca Osmanlı Devleti’ni ilgilendiren bütün gelişmelere kayıtsız kalmamıştır. Bunun dışında gazetedeki bütün haber ve makaleler tarandığında gazetenin yayın hayatı boyunca ısrarla sürdürdüğü tek tavır Sultan II. Abdülhamit’e olan muhalefetleridir. Osmanlı gazetesinin yayın hayatı boyunca sürekli takip ettiği konulardan biri meşrutiyet yandaşlığıdır. Gazeteyi çıkaranlara göre Osmanlı Devleti’nin kötü durumunun tek sebebi II. Abdülhamit’in yönetimidir. Devletin içinde bulunduğu kötü durumdan kurtarılması için tek çare ise meşrutiyetin ilan edilmesi gerekmektedir. Osmanlı Gazetesi önce Cenevre, Londra ve en sonra da Kahire’de çıkarılmıştır. Gazetenin sayfaları incelendiğinde gazeteye hemen hemen her sayıda farklı farklı şehirlerden mektupların ulaştığı görülmektedir. Gazeteye gelen bu mektupların en çok İstanbul’dan geldiği görülmüştür. Bunu Girit’ten gelenler izlemektedir. Gazeteye ulaşan mektupların Şam’dan, Kuveyt’ten, Musul’dan, Mısır’dan, Edirne’den, Deliorman’dan, Trablus’tan, Arnavutluk’tan ve daha pek çok yerden Gülser OĞUZ, Osmanlı Gazetesi’ne Gönderilen… 237 Osmanlı Basınında Osmanlı Gazetesi Osmanlı Devleti’ne Basının Girişi İnsanoğlu yüzyıllar boyu haberleşmek maksadıyla çeşitli yöntemler kullanmıştır. Yazı, bu bağlamda insanoğlunun kullandığı en etkili ve kalıcı yöntemlerden biri olmuştur. Yazının keşfiyle insanlar arasındaki bilgi gönderildiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca Amerika’dan da mektupların Osmanlı Gazetesi’ne ulaştığı görülmüştür. Gazeteye gönderilen mektupların içeriğinin de gazetenin görüşleriyle paralellik taşıdığı görülmektedir. The Osmanlı (Ottoman) newspaper pursued its publication life in the years 1897-1904. It was published by the members of the Committee of Union and Progress, who were dissident to the ruling of Abdulhamid II. It has been forced to maintain its publication life abroad because of Sultan Abdulhamid II’s oppression. Osmanlı did not, throughout its publication life, remain indifferent to all developments concerning the Ottoman Empire. Moreover, when all news and columns in the Newspaper are scanned through, the only attitude maintained persistently by the Newspaper throughout its publication life is observed as its dissent to Sultan Abdulhamid II. One of the issues followed persistently by Osmanlı throughout its publication life was a constitutional advocacy. The only reason for the plight of the Ottoman Empire, according to the newspaper issuers, was the rule of Sultan Abdulhamid II. The only way to rescue the State from its plight was to declare constitutional monarchy. Osmanlı was published first in Geneva, London and lastly in Cairo. When the pages of the Newspaper are examined, it has been observed that letters from different cities were received by the Newspaper for almost every issue. It has been observed that these letters were received mainly from Istanbul, followed by Crete. It is determined that the letters received by the newspaper were sent from Damascus, Kuwait, Mosul, Egypt, Edirne, Ludogorets, Tripoli, Albania and many other places. Furthermore, letters from America are also observed to have been received by the Osmanlı. The content of the letters is also observed to be in parallel with the views of the newspaper. The fact that these letters covered highly diverse geographical areas is of importance to show the impact area and followers of the newspaper.
