Abstract:
Environmental samples usually contains a complicated matrix instead of a metal which we want to determine. Trace metal in samples and interfering the other compounds reduces sensitivity of the methods. Most of the analytical determination, in samples which have complicated contents, do not proper to determine directly. For this, a preconcentration and a seperation should be used absolutely. Classic seperation and preconcentration methods are; solid phase extraction, liquid- liquid extraction, cloud point extraction, ion exchange and electrodialysis. These methods mostly have been used to determine organic solvents which have high purity and also to determine for heavy metals which can be a problem for environment. Recently; Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) method commonly use in pharmacology, environment and food technology for its features such as; easy applicability, high preconcentration factors, ensuring proper selection. For determination of metal several devices have been used such as; Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPCL), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometry (UV-VIS). When compared with other methods; it was seen that UV-VIS spectophotometry is more simple, quick, multidirectional and more economic.
