Kapadokya Bölgesi içerisinde yer alan Niğde, antik kentleri, tarihi ve kültürel eserleri, termal kaynakları, doğal güzellikleri ve birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapması nedeniyle önemli turizm merkezlerinden biridir. Bu tarihi dokuya sahip destinasyonun, marka destinasyon haline gelebilmesi için tanıtımının yapılması gerekmektedir. Bir destinasyonun marka haline gelmesi, bölgeyi simgeleyen ürünlerin de markalaşmasını kolaylaştırır. Söz konusu destinasyona tekrar gelme isteğini arttırır. Ayrıca turistik tüketicilerin, hem fiziki açıdan hem de psikolojik açıdan destinasyona yönlendirilmesini sağlar. Bu bağlamda söz konusu araştırmanın amacı; destinasyon markalaşması konusunun incelenmesi ve Niğde'yi ziyaret eden yerli turistlerin Niğde'yi bir destinasyon markası olarak algılama düzeylerinin tespit edilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 2018 yılında Niğde'yi ziyaret eden, rastlantısal olarak seçilen 350 yerli turiste anket uygulanmış, ziyaretçilerin Niğde hakkındaki görüşleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonrasında elde edilen bulgulara göre Niğde'yi ziyaret edenlerin çoğunluğunu kadınların, bekârların, genç yaş grubunun, orta gelir düzeyindeki öğrencilerin ve memurların oluşturduğu görülmüştür. Niğde'ye gelenlerin ziyaretlerinden memnun oldukları ve çevresindekilere tavsiye etmek istedikleri tespit edilmiştir. Niğde'nin temiz bir havasının, geleneklerine bağlı, konuksever bir il olmasının yanı sıra trafiği yoğun, alt ve üst yapısı, tanıtımı yetersiz bir il olduğu görülmüştür. Niğde'ye gelen ziyaretçilerin tekrar gelme ve tavsiye etme niyetleriyle Niğde'nin marka değeri algıları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu sonucu elde edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın hem destinasyon markalaşması hem de Niğde ile ilgili ileride yapılacak araştırmalar için yol gösterici nitelikte olacağı düşünülmektedir.
Nigde which is located in Cappadocia Region is one of the most important tourism centers because of its ancient cities, historical and cultural artifacts, thermal springs, natural beauties and hosting to a lot of civilizations. To make this destination which has a historic fabric have a brand destination, it has to be publicized. That a destination becomes a brand helps the products symbolizing the area becomes a brand also. It also gets direct the touristic consumer to the destination both physically and psychologically. In this respect, the aim of this research is to analyze the subject of destination branding and to determine the domestic tourists' perception level of Niğde as a destination branding. For this purpose in 2018, a survey has been applied to 350 domestic tourists chosen randomly and their perception of Nigde is tried to be determined. It has been determined that according to the results got from the research, most of the visitors coming to Nigde are women, single, young age group, students and officers with middle income. It has been seen that comers to Nigde are satisfied with their visits and they want to advise it to their acquaintances. It has been determined that Nigde has a clean air, depends on its traditions, is a hospitable province and also it has a heavy traffic and its super structure infrastructure and publicity are not sufficient. It has been seen that there are significant differences between the intention of the visitors' coming to Nigde, revisiting and advising and perception of brand value of Nigde. It is thought that this study will be helpful both for the future researches about Nigde and destination branding.
