Abstract:
The electricity demand is increasing day by day in all over the world. The electricity is generally generated from fossil fuels but their worldwide reserves are depleted and environmental problems are appeared in case of over consumption of them. Therefore, the electricity must be generated from alternative sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and etc. There are lots studies about electricity generation by using solar energy where the inverter design is one of most significant issues for PV systems. The micro inverter which has 335 Wp rated power is designed in this study. The designed micro inverter is comprised by two-stages as phase interleaved boost converter which is controlled by Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and H5 inverter stage which is controlled by sinusoidal pulse width modulator (SPWM) with PI controller. The output voltage of PV module fluctuates in case of changing irradiation. However, the output voltage of it is stable at 220 V rms , 50 Hz thanks to SPWM with PI controller. The designed micro inverter is analyzed with 250 W active and 40 Var inductive reactive power. The efficiency is obtained as 97.16% while voltage and current total harmonic distortion (THD) ratios are respectively obtained at 2.91% and 2.87%.
