Bir şehrin güzelleri ile doğal ve tarihî güzelliklerini anlatan şehrengizler, klasik Türk
edebiyatının nazım türleri arasında bulunmaktadır. 16. yüzyılın başından itibaren gelişen bu
tür kısa zamanda yaygınlaşmış ve pek çok eser kaleme alınmıştır. Yazıldıkları dönemin
kültürel hayatına dâir önemli bilgiler içeren bu eserler, çoğunlukla mesnevi nazım şekliyle
kaleme alınmıştır. Şehrengizlerin dili, diğer pek çok türe göre sade ve yalındır.
İstanbul Üniversitesi Nadir Eserler Kütüphanesi T 3534 numarada kayıtlı bir mecmuanın 28b32a varakları arasında bulunan, 17. yüzyılın sonu 18. yüzyılın başında yaşadığı düşünülen
Fâ’iz mahlaslı bir şairin Farsça kaleme almış olduğu İstanbul Şehrengizi, mesnevi nazım
şekliyle yazılmış olup 343 beyittir. Söz konusu eser, Şehrengîz-i Der-Vasf-ı Belde-i Fâhire-i
İstanbul ifadesiyle başlayıp Der-Na’t-ı Seyyidü’l-Mürselîn, Münâcât, Der-Vasf-ı Eyüp, Der-Vasf-ı
Galata, Der-Vasf-ı Tophane, Der-Vasf-ı Beşiktaş, Der-Vasf-ı Hisâr-ı Rumeli başlıklarıyla devam
etmektedir. Her ne kadar ayrı bir başlık açılmasa da şairin 90. beyitten itibaren Ayasofya
anlatımına da yer verdiği görülmektedir.
Bu çalışmada İstanbul Şehrengizi’nin çeviri yazılı metnine yer verilerek şekil ve muhteva
özellikleri üzerine değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur
Şehrengizs, telling the beauties and the natural and historical beauties of a city, are among the
verse genres of classical Turkish literature. This genre, developed from the beginning of the
16th century, became widespread in a short time and a lot of works were written out. These
works, which contain important information about the cultural life of the period in which
they were written, were mostly written in masnavi verse. The language of the Şehrengiz is
plain and simple compared to many other genres.
The Istanbul Şehrengiz, written by a Persian poet with the pseudonym “Fâ’iz,” who is thought
to have lived at the end of the 17th century and at the beginning of the 18th century, is present
at folio 28b-32a of a journal, registered with number of T 3534 in Istanbul University collection
of manuscripts Library, is written in masnavi verse and has 343 couplets. The literary work in
question begins with the expression of Şehrengîz-i Der-Vasf-ı Belde-i Fâhire-i İstanbul and
continues with the titles of Der-Na’t-ı Seyyidü'l-Mürselîn, Münâcât, Der-Vasf-ı Eyüp, Der-Vasf-ı
Galata, Der-Vasf-ı Tophane, Der-Vasf-ı Beşiktaş, Der-Vasf-ı Hisâr-ı Rumeli. Although a separate
title is not opened, it is seen that the poet has included the Hagia Sophia narrative from the
90th couplet.In this study, with the transcript of the Şehrengiz of İstanbul, some evaluations about features
of type and content are carried out.
