Süreli yayınlar, edebiyat tarihi çalışmalarının önemli bir ayağını meydana getirir. Döneminin özelliklerini bütün çıplaklığıyla ortaya koyma potansiyeline sahip olan gazete ve dergiler hem düşünce serüveninin hem de toplumsal olgu ve değişimlerin tespit edilerek anlaşılabilmesi için ehemmiyet taşıyan vesikalardır. Büyük kitlelere ulaşabilme noktasında daha başarılı olduğu iddia edilebilecek edebiyat muhtevalı süreli yayınlar, burada özellikle zikredilmelidir. Başlangıçta, toplumu eğitmek ve onu düzeltmek gayesi güden Osmanlı aydınının, bu amacını yaygın olarak edebi metinler vasıtasıyla gerçekleştirdiği bilinir. Bu tarz metinlerin toplumla buluşmasını sağlayan yegâne araç ise süreli yayınlardır. Bu bağlamdan hareketle sözü edilen vesikaların bir okul işlevi taşıdığı düşünülebilir. Osmanlı yayın tarihi içerisinde önemli bir yekûna ve işleve sahip olan mizah yayıncılığından, ayrıca bahsetmek gerekir. İstibdat süreci boyunca yasaklanan mizahi gazete ve dergilerde, II. Meşrutiyet'in ilanıyla birlikte adeta bir yayın patlaması yaşanır. Genel kabule göre Diyojen'le başlayan Osmanlı'daki mizahi yayın serüveni, söz konusu dönem itibariyle nicelik ve kısmen nitelik olarak kayda değer bir aşama kateder. Çalışmanın konusu olan ve 1910 yılında yayın hayatına başlayan Piyano/Düşünüyorum dergisi de II. Meşrutiyet'in, mizahi içeriği ağır basan yayınlarındandır. Dergi, yayımlandığı beş aylık süre içerisinde, dönemin önde gelen kalemlerine alan açar. Özgürlüğünden ödün vermeyerek gür sesiyle dikkat çeken bir yayın olan Piyano/Düşünüyorum, mühim sayılabilecek pek çok mizahi metin içerir. Çalışmada, söz konusu dergideki mizah ve hiciv yazıları, gülme kuramlarından hareketle değerlendirilecektir. Burada gülmenin, mizahın temel yapı taşı olduğu iddia edilecek, hicvin ise gülmeden ziyade eleştiriye daha yakın bir olgu olduğu öne sürülecektir. Gülme kavramının isabetli bir şekilde temellendirilmesi, mizahın da doğru anlaşılmasını sağlayacağı düşüncesinden hareketle hicvin mizahla olan ilişkisi tespit edilecektir. Böylece iki kavram arasındaki benzerlikler ve farklar ortaya konulacaktır.
Periodicals constitute an important branch of literature studies. Newspapers and magazines, which have the potential to reveal the features of the period with all the nakedness, are the important documents to determine and understand both the thought adventure and the social phenomena and changes. Periodicals with literary content that can be claimed to be more successful in reaching large masses should be mentioned here. In the beginning, it is known that the Ottoman intellectual, who was aiming to educate the society and correct it, carried out its purpose through literary texts. Periodicals are one of the most important tools that enable such texts to meet with society. In this context, it can be thought that periodicals carry a school function. It should also be mentioned that humor publishing, which has an important aggregate and function in the Ottoman publication history. In the humorous newspapers and magazines prohibited during the period of autocracy, With the announcement of the second constitutional era there is a broadcast explosion. According to the general acceptance, the adventure of humor in the Ottomans, which started with Diyojen, shows a significant improvement in quantity and partially quality as of the period in question. Piyano/Düşünüyorum magazine, which is the subject of the study and published in 1910, is one of the journals with humor of the second constitutional era. The journal, which can be published for five months, opens a space for important writers within this period. Piyano/Düşünüyorum, which has a loud voice and does not compromise its freedom, contains many important humorous texts. In this study, the humor and satire writings in the mentioned journal will be evaluated based on theory of laughter. It will also be claimed that laughter is the basic building block of humor, and that satire is closer to criticism rather than laughing. Accurate assessment of the concept of laughing will provide an accurate understanding of humor. From this point of view, the relationship of humor with humor will be determined. Thus, the similarities and differences between the two concepts will be revealed.
