Bu çalışmanın amacı, tutundurma karması unsurlarından olan kişisel satışın yanısıra gönüllü satış olgusunun tanımlanması ve sosyal medya uygulamalarının yaygın olarak kullanılması sonucu kullanıcılar tarafından yapılan yer bildirimi (konum atma/konum paylaşma) ile ilgili paylaşımların alışveriş merkezlerinin (AVM) ve AVM'lerdeki mağazaların seçiminde etkili olup olmadığını analiz etmektir. Çalışmada pazarlama sistemi içerisindeki tutundurma teorisinde yer alan kişisel satışın dışında satış ve gönüllü satış ile ilgili ayrıntılı bilgilere değinilmiş, gönüllü satışın tanımı yapılmış ve tutundurma karmasındaki yerine yönelik tanımlayıcı bir araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Kayseri'de bulunan ve anakütlesini Kayseri'deki Uluslararası Alışveriş Merkezleri Konseyi (ICSC) Standartlarına göre sınıflandırılan AVM'lerden geleneksel alışveriş merkezi sayılan küçük ve orta büyüklükte ve kiralanabilen alanı 15.000 m2 üzerinde olan Kayseri Forum'da alışveriş yapan katılımcılar oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada, AVM'de sosyal medya aracılığı ile yapılan yer bildiriminin yani gönüllü satış olgusunun AVM ve AVM'deki mağaza seçimine etkisini incelemek için belirtilen örneklemden elde edilen verilere faktör, t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (MANOVA) ve regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır. Yapılan açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonucu AVM'deki yer bildirimi paylaşımı ve etkisi, gönüllülük, yer bildiriminin (konum atma) tanıtım ve satışa etkisi ve yer bildirimi kullanımı şeklinde 4 faktör belirlenmiştir. 4 faktöre ait 29 ifadenin modelin yakınsak geçerliliği ve birleşik yapı güvenirliğini sağlayıp sağlamadığını tespit edebilmek için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi de uygulanmıştır. Belirlenen dört faktörün algılanma derecelerinin demografik değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini test etmek için yapılan tek yönlü varyans (MANOVA) analizi sonucu tüketicilerin meslekler itibariyle faktörlerin algılanmaları arasında farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Yapılan t-testi sonucunda ise cinsiyet ve medeni duruma göre de anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Tüketicilerin faktörleri algılama düzeylerinin AVM ve AVM'deki mağaza seçimi üzerinde etkili olup olmadığını modellemek amacıyla yapılan regresyon analizi sonucunda sosyal medya aracılığı ile yapılan yer bildiriminin AVM ve AVM'deki mağaza seçimini anlamlı ve pozitif şekilde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulguların AVM'de sosyal medya aracılığı ile yapılan yer bildiriminin yani gönüllü satış olgusunun AVM seçimi ve AVM'deki mağaza seçimine etkisine yönelik işletmelere ve araştırma yapacak kişilere katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. The purpose of this study is to define the voluntary sale as a part of promotional mix other than personel sales and analyze whether check-ins and location-based notifications affect the purchasing behaviors and shopping mall choice of customers as a result of widespread use of voluntary sales and social media applications. In the study, a detailed information on sales and voluntary sales, other than the personal sales, in promotion theory within marketing system was presented, voluntary sale was defined and a descriptive study was carried out regarding to its place in promotion theory. The sample of the study consists of the participants who make check-ins voluntarily through social media in Kayseri Forum, the biggest shopping mall of the city. The shopping center where this study was carried out is a traditional one according to the ICSC-International Council of Shopping Centers' standarts and it includes small and mid-size shops whose rentable areas are over 15.000 m2. In the study, data obtained from the sample aforementioned here were analyzed with factor test, t-test, analysis of one way variance (MANOVA) and regression analysis in order to investigate the effect of check-ins which are made voluntarily through social media applications on the choice of shops or shopping malls. According to the explatory factor analysis performed, total 4 factors were determined which are the effect of check-ins in shopping malls, volunteering, the effect of check-ins (location-based notifications) on sales and advertising and the use of check-ins. A confirmatory factor analysis was also performed in order to determine whether or not total 29 statements of 4 factors provide convergent validity and combined structural reliability of the model. With the analysis of one way variance (MANOVA) which was performed for testing whether 4 factors variate according to demographic variables, some significant differences were found between the professions of consumers and their perceptions of these factors. According to the t-test performed, some significant differences were not observed in terms of gender and marital status of the consumers. As a result of regression analysis which was performed in order to investigate the association between the consumers perceptions of factors and the check-ins made through social media applications, it has been determined that the placements made via social media have a meaningful and positive relationship that affected the choice of consumers on shops or shopping centers. It is thought that the findings of this study will be helpful for the researchers and business managers who will make studies regarding the effect of check-ins on the choice of shops or shopping centers, which is made through social media applications in the shopping centers.
