Bacasız sanayi olarak bilinen turizm, Türkiye’de en büyük ekonomik sektörlerden biridir. Denizkum-
güneş üçlüsünün hakim olduğu turistik ve ekonomik faaliyetleri on iki aya yayma, yeni arayışlarda
olan turistleri çekme ve daha fazla turizm geliri elde etme düşünceleri alternatif turizm aktivitelerini
gündeme getirmektedir. Bu turizm faaliyetlerinden biri de, kış turizmidir. Kış turizmi, günümüzde
giderek önem kazanan bir turizm faaliyetidir. Türkiye coğrafi konum nedeniyle kış turizmi için elverişli
olmasına rağmen ulaşması gereken noktada değildir. Sahip olunan kış turizmi potansiyelinin
değerlendirilmesi için bilimsel temelli planlama çalışmalarının yapılması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada,
Sivas’ta bulunan Yıldız Dağı’nın kış turizmine yönelik geçmişi ortaya konularak kış turizminin
geliştirilmesine yönelik yapılabilecek ileriki planlamalarda örnek teşkil etmesi için mevcut durum tespiti
yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Yıldız Dağı’nın mevcut turizm potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesi için swot
analizi kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca, yapılan analiz sonucu Yıldız Dağı kış turizminin geliştirilmesine yönelik
öneriler verilmiştir.
Service industry known as the tourism industry is one of the largest economic sectors in Turkey. The thoughts of spreading touristic and economic activities dominated by sand-sea-sun trio to twelve months, attracting new quests and bringing more tourism revenues make alternative tourism activities a current issue. One of these tourism activities is winter tourism. Nowadays, winter tourism is increasingly becoming an important tourism activity. Turkey is not suitable for winter tourism due to its geographical location in spite of not being attained reach the point. For evaluating potential of the winter tourism have to be carried out scientifically based planning studies. In this study, it is aimed to determine the current situation by revealing the history of winter tourism of The Yıldız Mountain in Sivas in order to set an example in future plans for the development of the winter tourism. SWOT analysis was used to evaluate the current tourism potential of Yıldız Mountain. In addition, recommendations were given for the development of the Yıldız Mountain’s winter tourism results of the analysis.
