戦争記憶の形成―中学校国語教科書の分析

Abstract

本稿は、戦争文学が伝達形成する記憶という視点から、義務教育で使用されている国語教科書を通して伝達形成されている戦争の記憶について考察した。具体的には、現在日本の中学校で使用されている検定国語教科書に記述されている戦争関連の作品について分析をした。分析にあたり、まずは2008年告示の学習指導要領を検討した。学習指導要領における「戦争」に関連する記述を分析したところ、国語分野には「戦争」も「平和」についても、具体的な言及がなかったことを指摘した。次に、国語の教科書に掲載されている戦争関連の作品を検討した結果、反戦的で平和指向の記憶を形成しようとしていること、原爆および世界初の被爆体験を描いた作品の採択数は減少していること、第２次世界大戦を中心とする「戦争の記憶」が形成されようとしていることが明らかになった。また、戦争は、戦場だけが悲惨なのではないということを示す一方で、直接的な悲惨さを生徒が学ぶことを回避する構図になっているということが明らかになった。

This article discusses how the textbooks in the junior high schools built memory of wars by analyzing the contents of the Japanese language textbooks approved for use in screening by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Ministry of Education). First, in the 2008 Curriculum Guideline of the Ministry of Education, there was no mention of “war” and “peace” in the field of Japanese language. Second, this article analyzed the war literatures in the all 18 textbooks and found that (1) many works emphasized phases of antiwar feelings and pacifism, (2) a number of works related to atomic bombing decreased, and (3) the World War II was very focused. To build memory of war in Japan, on the one hand, it was emphasized that not only battlefronts but also home front were influenced by war. On the other hand, it was avoided that students learned the miseries a war causes.
