Konut, taşıt ve ihtiyaç kredilerini içine alan bireysel krediler ile kredi kartlarının
toplam hacimleri son yıllarda hem küresel hem ulusal düzeyde giderek artmaktadır.
Gelecekte elde edilmesi umut edilen gelirin bugünden sağladığı satın alma
gücü sayesinde, mal ve hizmet ihtiyaçlarının şiddeti ve talebi de değişmektedir.
Bu talep dış ticaret dengesini ve cari dengeyi de negatif yönde etkilemektedir.
Bu çalışmada bireysel kredilerin ve kredi kartlarının cari denge üzerindeki etkisi
ekonometrik olarak araştırılmaktadır. Ekonometrik analiz için tüm banka türlerine
ait bireysel kredi hacmi (kredi kartları da dâhil) ile cari denge arasındaki uzun
ve kısa dönem ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda ilk olarak durağanlık durumları
ADF, PP ve KPSS sınamaları ile araştırılmış, nedensellik analizi için Toda-
Yamamoto Testi kullanılmıştır. Seriler arasındaki eşbütünleşme, uzun ve kısa dönem
ilişkisi ise Pesaran’ın (vd. 2001) Sınır Testi yaklaşımına dayalı ARDL modeli
kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. Bulgulara göre, bireysel kredilerin cari açığı bir
miktar arttırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The volume of personal loans including housing, car and other consumer loans
and credit card debts is growing increasingly in Turkey as well as all over the
world in recent years. Current purchasing power increases provided by expected future incomes changes the intensity and demand of goods and services.
This demand has a negative impact on foreign trade balance and current account balance.
In this study, we have investigated econometrically the impact of consumer loans and credit cards on the current account balance. The econometric analysis
has been made by investigating the log run and short run relationship between
the current account balance and the volume of all types of consumer loans by
banks (including credit card debts). In this perspective, fisrt we have conducted
the stability tests such as ADF, PP and KPSS unit root tests and second the causality test by Toda-Yamamoto. Lastly, the cointegration relationship between these series has been investigated in the long run and the short run by ARDL approach based on the Bounds Test. According to the findings, we have concluded
that consumer loans contribute to a minor increase in the current account deficit.
