Duyguların bireylerin çalışma hayatına ve gündelik yaşamlarına yönelik
davranışlarına etki etmesi ve bu durumun bir sermeye olarak literatürde yer
almaya başlamasının; duygu durumu ve yaşam kalitesine etki eden psikolojik
iyi olma halini de etkileyebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bununla birlikte ulusal
literatürde otel çalışanları üzerinde duygusal sermaye ile psikolojik iyi oluş
ilişkisini inceleyen çalışmaya rastlanılamamıştır. Bu nedenle literatürde konu
ile ilgili boşluğu doldurmak amacıyla bu çalışma tasarlanmıştır. Bu
araştırmanın amacı, duygusal sermayenin psikolojik iyi oluş üzerindeki
etkisini analiz etmektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Nevşehir ilinde faaliyet
gösteren üç, dört ve beş yıldızlı otel işletmeleri çalışanları oluşturmaktadır
(n=229). Bu çalışmada veriler Newman ve arkadaşları (2015) tarafından
geliştirilen duygusal sermaye ve Diener vd., (2010) tarafından geliştirilen
psikolojik iyi oluş ölçeklerinden oluşan anket yardımıyla elde edilmiştir.
Duygusal sermayenin psikolojik iyi oluş üzerindeki etkisi çoklu regresyon
analizi yardımıyla test edilmiş olup, ayrıca tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden de
yararlanılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda; duygusal sermayenin alt boyutları olan
farkındalık ve uyumluluğun psikolojik iyi oluş üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif
yönlü bir etkiye sahip olduğu, diğer yandan ilişki yönetimi ve öz yönetimin
psikolojik iyi oluş üzerinde anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.
Son olarak araştırmanın bazı sınırlılıkları olduğu vurgulanmış ve gelecekte benzer konularda yapılabilecek araştırmalara yönelik bazı öneriler
sunulmuştur.
It is thought that the effect of emotions on indivudals working life and their
behaviors towards daily lives and the beginning of this situation to appear in
the literature as a capital may also affect status of emotion and the
psychological well-being which affects quality of life. However, in the
national literature, there was no study investigating the relationship between
emotional capital and psychological well-being on hotel employees. For this
reason, this study was designed to fill the gap in the literature. The aim of this
research is to analyze the effect of emotional capital on psychological wellbeing. The sample of the study consists of three, four and five star hotel
establishments employees in Nevşehir province (n=229). In this study, the
data were collected with the help of a questionnaire consisting of emotional
capital developed by Newman et al. (2015) and psychological well-being
scales developed by Diener et al. (2010). The effect of emotional capital on
psychological well-being was tested with the help of multiple regression
analysis and descriptive statistics were also used. According to the results of
the research, it was determined that awareness factor and adaptability, which
are the dimensions of emotional capital, have a positive and significant effect
on psychological well-being, whereas it was determined that relationship
skills and self-management do not have a significant effect on psychological
well-being. Finally, it was emphasized that the research had some limitations
and some suggestions were made for future researchs on similar issues.
