Bu çalışmanın amacı, yatırımcı duyarlılığını temsilen kullanılan TCMB Tüketici Güven Endeksi, Bloomberg HT Tüketici Güven Endeksi ve VIX Korku Endeksi ile Borsa İstanbul 100 Endeksi arasındaki eşbütünleşme ve nedensellik ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma Ocak 2007-Ağustos 2020 dönemini kapsamaktadır ve aylık veriler kullanılmıştır. BIST 100 Endeksi ile TCMB Tüketici Güven Endeksi arasındaki eşbütünleşme ilişkisi Johansen eşbütünleşme yöntemiyle incelenmiş ve değişkenler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisi bulunamamıştır. VAR modeli üzerinden yapılan Granger nedensellik testi sonucunda, BIST 100 Endeksinden Tüketici Güven Endeksine doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir. BIST 100 Endeksi ile Bloomberg HT Tüketici Güven Endeksi arasındaki eşbütünleşme ilişkisini araştırmak için ARDL Sınır Testi kullanılmış ve değişkenler arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Değişkenler arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi Toda-Yamamoto Nedensellik Testi ile analiz edilmiş ve BIST 100 Endeksinden Bloomberg HT Tüketici Güven Endeksine doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. BIST 100 Endeksinden TCMB Tüketici Güven Endeksine ve Bloomberg HT Tüketici Güven Endeksine doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisinin çıkmasının, tüketici güveninde ortaya çıkan değişimlerin yatırımcılar tarafından önceden fiyatlandırılmasından kaynaklanabileceği söylenebilir. BIST 100 Endeksi ile VIX Korku Endeksi arasındaki eşbütünleşme ilişkisi ARDL Sınır Testi ile araştırılmıştır. Söz konusu iki değişken arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. BIST 100 Endeksi ile VIX Korku Endeksi arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisini incelemek için Toda-Yamamoto Nedensellik Testi kullanılmış ve VIX Korku Endeksinden BIST 100 Endeksine doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmuştur. VIX Korku Endeksi ile BIST 100 Endeksi arasında negatif yönlü bir ilişki bulunmaktadır ve VIX Korku Endeksinde meydana gelen bir değişim BIST 100 Endeksini etkilemektedir. Bu sonuç, yatırımcıların BIST 100 Endeksinde meydana gelecek değişimleri öngörmek amacıyla VIX Korku Endeksini kullanabileceklerine işaret etmektedir.
The aim of this research is to investigate the correlation and causality between the CBRT Consumer Confidence Index, Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index and the VIX Index and the Istanbul Stock Exchange 100 Index which are used to represent investor sentiment. Research covers January 2007-August 2020 period and monthly data were used. The cointegration relationship between the BIST 100 Index and the CBRT Consumer Confidence Index was studied by the Johansen cointegration method and any cointegration relationship was not found between the variables. As a result of the Granger causality test conducted through the VAR model, A one-way causal relationship was determined from the BIST 100 Index to the Consumer Confidence Index. ARDL bound test was used to investigate the correlation between BIST 100 Index and Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index and it was observed that there is a cointegration relationship between variables. Causality relationship between variables analyzed by Toda-Yamamoto causality test and it was observed aone-way causality relationship from the BIST 100 Index to the Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index. It can be stated that the emergence of a one-way causality relationship from the BIST 100 Index to the CBRT Consumer Confidence Index and the Bloomberg HT Consumer Confidence Index may be due to the fact that changes in consumer confidence are pre-priced by investors.The cointegration relationship between BIST 100 Index and Vix fear index was investigated by ARDL boundtest. It was concluded that there is a cointegration relationship between the two variables in question. The Toda-Yamamoto causality test was used to examine the causality relationship between the BIST 100 Index and the VIX Index, and a one-way causality relationship was found from the VIX Index to the BIST 100 Index. There is a negative correlation between the VIX Index and the BIST 100 Index, and a change in the VIX Index affects the BIST 100 Index.This result indicates that investors enable to use the VIX Index to predict changes in the BIST 100 Index.
