494 numaralı Galata Şer'iye Sicili'nin transkripsiyonu ve değerlendirmesi: Cilt I

Abstract

Şer'iye sicilleri Osmanlı tarihinin ana kaynaklarından birini teşkil etmektedir. Mahkemelerde kayıt altına alınan davalardan meydana gelen Şer'iye Sicilleri Osmanlı hukukunun yanı sıra siyasi, ekonomik, ictimai, kültürel, dini v.s. yapısını da ortaya koymaktadır. Bu sebeple her sicil ait olduğu yöre halkının sosyal ve idari yapısı, yaşayış biçimi, ekonomik durumu ve diğer birçok konuda bilgiler içermektedir.Bu çalışmada 494 Numaralı Galata Şer'iye Sicili esas alınarak Bizans ve Osmanlı dönemi Galata'sı ile sicilin içinde geçen hükümler doğrultusunda dönemin sosyal, siyasi, ekonomik yapısı hakkında değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.Çalışmamız dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Osmanlı'nın hukuk sistemi hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Bizans ve Osmanlı döneminde Galata'nın durumu ele alınmıştır.Üçüncü bölümde çalışmanın esas konusunu oluşturan 494 Numaralı Galata Şer'iye Sicili'nin çevirisi her hükmün konusunu bildiren başlıklarla birlikte verilmiştir.Dördüncü bölümde hükümlerde geçen bilgiler doğrultusunda H. 1203/ M. 1789 tarihindeki Galata'nın mahalleleri, köyleri, insanların meslekleri, kullanılan eşyalar, ekonomisi hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Şer`iye sicilleri, Galata, sosyal hayat, ekonomik hayat, idari yapı.

Court records constitute one of the basic resources of Ottoman history. The court records composed of lawsuits recorded in courts reflect not only the Ottoman law but also the political, economic, social, cultural, religious etc. Structure of the Ottoman State. Therefore, each record includes information about the social and administrative structure, lifestyle, economic situation and many other aspects of the people to whom the record belongs.In this study, based on the number 494 Galata Court Record, assessments are made about the social, political and economic structure of that period and the Byzantium and Ottoman Galata in line with the stated judgment in the record.Our study consists of four parts. In the first part, information on the Ottoman law is given and in the second part, Galata in the Byzantium and Ottoman periods is taken up. In the third part, translation of the Number 494 Galata Court Record that constitutes the main topic of the study is provided together with the titles that indicate the topic of each judgment. In the fourth part, in line with the information in the judgments, information is rpovided on the streets, villages, professions, things used and economy of Galata in the year 1789.Key Words: Court records, Galata, social life, economic life, administrative structure.
