Mükemmeliyetçilik, kusursuzluk için çabalayan, yüksek performans için ulaşılması zor hedefler belirleyen insanların sergiledikleri bir davranış şeklidir. İş performansı ise çalışanların işletmenin amaç ve hedeflerine uygun olarak sergiledikleri davranışlar bütünüdür. İş performansı çalışanların kişilik özellikleri ve davranış şekilleri gibi çeşitli faktörlerden etkilenmektedir. Bir kişilik özelliği olan mükemmeliyetçilik algısı ise iş performansı düzeyini etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, otel çalışanlarının mükemmeliyetçilik algısı ile iş performansları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada veri toplama tekniği olarak anket kullanılmıştır ve çalışma gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, İzmir ilinde faaliyet gösteren dört ve beş yıldızlı otel çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir ve 393 otel çalışanı çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak; kişisel bilgi formu, mükemmeliyetçilik algısını ölçmek amacıyla Hewitt ve Flett (1990) tarafından geliştirilen "Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği" ve iş performansını ölçmek amacıyla Goodman ve Syvantek (1999) tarafından geliştirilen "İş Performansı" ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda mükemmeliyetçilik algısı ile iş performansı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte, mükemmeliyetçilik algısının iş performansını pozitif yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Perfectionism is the behavior of people who strive at exactitude and set hard-to-reach goals for high performance. Job performance is the behavior of employees in accordance with the aims and objectives of the business. Job performance is affected by various factors such as personality characteristics and patterns of behaviour of employees. The perception of perfectionism which is a personality characteristics, affects the level of job performance. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between perfectionism perception and job performance of hotel employees. In this study, the questionnaire was used as a data collection technique and the study was carried out on a voluntary basis. The population of the research consists of employees of four and five star hotel businesses in İzmir. The sample of the study was determined by convenience sampling method and 393 hotel employees constitute the sample of the study. In this study, personal information form, in order to mesure perfectionism perception "Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale" developed by Hewitt and Flett (1990) was used, and to measure job performance "Job Performance Scale" developed by Goodman and Syvantek (1999) was used as data collection tools. The results of the analysis, it was determined that there is a significant relationship between perfectionism perception and job performance. Besides, it was concluded that the perfectionism perception has a positive effect on job performance.
