dc.description.abstract In this study, the leaves of the cherry laurel tree (Prunus laurocerasus), which is known for its high antioxidant content, were used for the removal of Maxilon Yellow 4GL, a textile dye. In this study, optimum pH, temperature, contact time and amount of adsorbent were studied and then the adsorption isotherm was determined. As a result of the experimental studies, the dye removal efficiency of 76.64% was obtained at pH 7, and the dye removal efficiency reached 77.64% at a contact time of 180 minutes. As the optimum temperature, 25 ºC was chosen since there was no significant difference between the values in the study conducted for 25 ºC, 35 ºC and 45 ºC. In the study of determining the amount of cherry laurel leaves used as adsorbent, the removal efficiency reached 80% with 2 g adsorbent. As a result of the isotherm studies, the regression number was found to be 0.999 and it was found to be suitable for the Langmuir model as a model. It has been seen that the use of the material used in the removal of textile dyes is promising, and no study has been found in the literature on the removal of the mentioned dye with cherry laurel leaves. tr_TR
