Yabancı okul bunalımı: Gül’ün babası kim?

Abstract

Hece ile şiir yazan şairlerden Halide Nusret Zorlutuna’nın romanlarından biri olan Gül’ün Babası Kim? yabancı okul psikozunun Türk gençleri üzerindeki olumsuz tesiri ele alan bir eserdir. Hayatın olumsuzluklarına karşı hayal âleminde yaşayan Meclâ’nın başından geçen vakalar ele alınmıştır. Tanzimat’la başlayan kültür değişimi ve yabancı okul ikilemi arasında kalan yazar iyileri ödüllendirir; kötüleri cezalandırır. Meclâ’yı sıkıntılara sürükleyen Talat’ın öldürülmesi; Gül’e baba, Meclâ’ya ise eş bulunması bu teoriyi destekler niteliktedir. Yabancı okulun getirdiği yabancılaşmanın sebep olduğu geleneksellik ile modernizmin çatışması eserde ön plana çıkar

"Gül'ün Babası Kim?", one of the novels by Halide Nusret Zorlutuna, who is among our poets versing with syllables, is a work of art which deals with the adverse effect that foreign school psyccosis has on Turkish youth. Despite all problems of life, the incident Meclâ went through as a person living in a dream world was treated with its whole factuality(reality).Our people who remained in the dilemma between the foreign culture which started with Tanzimat and the foreign school are not aware of the stituation they faced. In the literary works based upon reality, the comic, dramatic and tragic situation that falls upon our people is treated. In "Gül'ün Babası kim?", a dramatic situation is handled. The author, unable to get over the impact of Romanticism, rewards the good and punishes the bad. The murder of Talat, being responsible for Meclâ's sufferings, and finding a father for Gül and a spouse for Meclâ seem to support this theory.
