Üniversite tercihinde çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinin kullanılması: Vakıf üniversitelerinin ameliyathane programları üzerine bir analitik hiyerarşi prosesi uygulaması

Abstract

Türkiye’de son yıllarda üniversite sayısının artmasıyla birlikte öğrencilerin tercih edebileceği devlet ya da vakıf üniversitesi alternatifleri de çoğalmıştır. Bir yükseköğretim programını tercih ederken öğrencilerin dikkate aldığı çok sayıda kriter ve alternatif söz konusudur. Bu çalışmanın amacı bir yükseköğretim programı tercih edilirken dikkate alınan kriterlerin önem derecesinin belirlenmesi ve alternatif üniversiteler arasından en uygun olanının seçilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda vakıf üniversitelerinin ameliyathane programlarının seçimi problemi ele alınmış ve söz konusu karar probleminin çözümünde çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden birisi olan Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) kullanılmıştır. Yöntemin uygulanması sonucunda yedi kriter önem sırasına dizilmiş ve dört alternatif üniversite arasından en uygun olanı tespit edilmiştir. Kriterlerin ağırlıkları ile alternatif üniversitelerin sıralamaları belirlenirken iki ayrı sınıftan öğrencilerin görüşlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ortak görüşlerine göre kriterlerin önem sıralaması baştan sona taban puan, burs, öğrenim ücreti / aile ve çevreye yakınlık, akademik kadro, fiziki yapı ve yerleşke ve kültürel etkinlikler olarak bulunmuştur. İkinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ortak görüşlerine göre ise bu sıralama taban puan, öğrenim ücreti, aile ve çevreye yakınlık, burs, akademik kadro, fiziki yapı ve yerleşke ve kültürel etkinlikler şeklinde olmuştur. Kriterler bakımından benzer görüşler ortaya çıkmış fakat tercih edilen alternatif üniversite sıralaması bakımından iki sınıf arasında belirgin farklılıkların olduğu görülmüştür. Son olarak, çalışmanın kısıtlarından ve gelecekte yapılacak araştırmalara ilişkin önerilerden bahsedilmiştir

With the increase of the number of universities in Turkey in recent years, the number of public or private university alternatives students can select have also increased. Students take into consideration many criteria and alternatives when they select a higher education program. The aim of this study is to determine the degree of importance of the criteria when selecting a higher education program and choose the optimum one within the alternative universities. In accordance with this aim, the problem of selecting the operating room programs of private universities has been tackled with and a multi-criteria decision making method, namely the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been used to solve the aforementioned decision making problem. Seven criteria have been ranked according to their importance and the optimum university has been selected within four alternatives as a result of applying the method. While determining the weights of criteria and ranking of the alternative universities it was utilized from the opinions of two different groups of students. According to the findings obtained from the opinions of the first grade students, the criteria were ranked in decreasing order of importance as base score, scholarship, education fee and distance of the university to home, academic staff, campus and cultural activities. According to the findings obtained from the opinions of second grade students this sequence was obtained as base score, education fee, distance of the university to home, scholarship, academic staff, campus and cultural activities. Similar opinions were found in terms of criteria evaluations but it was seen that there were significant differences in two groups in terms of alternative university preferences. Finally, limitations of the study and suggestions for future research have been discussed.
