İlkokul yıllarında öğrencileri mutlu ve mutsuz eden öğretmen davranışları ve bu davranışların etkileri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul yıllarında öğrencilerini mutlu ve mutsuz eden öğretmen davranışlarını ortaya çıkarmak ve bu davranışların öğrenciler üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup, araştırmada nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi yöntemi ile bir devlet üniversitesi eğitim fakültesinde 2014-2015 yaz döneminde Sınıf Yönetimi ve Rehberlik dersini alan 137 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı-yapılandırılmış bir form ile toplanan verilerin analizinde içerik analizi ve betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre katılımcılar, kendilerini en fazla mutlu eden öğretmen davranışlarını ödül verme, ilgi gösterme ve sorumluluk verme; en fazla mutsuz eden öğretmen davranışlarını ise ceza, dayak ve toplu ceza olarak belirtmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin kendilerini mutlu eden öğretmen davranışlarının dersi sevme, derse ilgi duyma, derse katılma, öğretmeni sevme, kendini önemli hissetme, kendine güven kazanma, düşüncelerini rahat ifade edebilme, öğretmenlik mesleğini seçme gibi etkilerinin olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Öğrencilerin kendilerini mutsuz eden öğretmen davranışlarının ise derse katılmama, ilgi duymama, dersten soğuma, dersi dinlememe, sevmeme, öğretmenden nefret etme, uzak durma, korkma, soğuma, öğretmenle konuşmama, okuldan soğuma arkadaşlarının önünde küçük düşme, fiziksel bazı hastalıklara yakalanma, kendine güvenini kaybetme, başarısız olmaktan korkma ve aşağılanmış hissetme gibi etkileri olduğunu belirtmişlerdir

The purpose of this study is to reveal the behaviors of teachers which make the students happy and unhappy and to examine the effects of these behaviors on students. Qualitative research model is used in the research. The sample of the study consisted of 137 students who received classroom management and guidance course in summer term in a public university education faculty using convenience sampling. Content and descriptive analysis were used to analyze the data collected by a semi-structured form developed by the researchers. In addition, there are quantitative aspects of the research as the frequencies of sub-themes are specified. According to the findings of the study, the participants stated that teachers' behaviors that make them happy most were rewarding, showing interest and giving responsibility, and the behaviors which make them unhappy are as punishment, beatings and bulk punishment. They expressed that the behaviors of the teachers who make them happy help them to like the lesson, be interested in the lesson, attend the class, love the teacher, feel important, gain self -confidence, express their thoughts in a comfortable way and choose teaching as a profession. Teachers who make them unhappy cause not participating in the lesson, not being interested, being away from the course, not listening to the lesson, disliking teacher, staying away, fear, cooling down, not talking to the teacher, physical illness, losing confidence.
