Nevşehir bölgesinin kongre turizmi potansiyelinin turizm işletme yöneticilerinin bakış açısıyla değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı Nevşehir bölgesinde var olan mevcut turizm potansiyelinin kongre turizmi açısından da değerlendirilerek ön plana çıkarılmasına ve geliştirilmesine katkıda bulunacak birtakım yeni stratejilerin belirlenmesini ve hayata geçirilmesini sağlamaktır. Bu amaçla bir bölgede kongre turizminin geliştirilmesi için gerekli kaynak ve uygulamalarda merkezi eğilim ölçüleri gibi istatistiksel analiz yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama yöntemi olarak anket formu kullanılmıştır. Ankette yer alan kongre turizminin geliştirilmesine yönelik ifadeler bu konu ile ilgili geçmişte yapılan çalışmalardan yararlanılarak oluşturulmuştur. Anket, araştırma kapsamında kongre etkinliklerine hizmet sağlayan 4 ve 5 yıldızlı otel işletmeleri, özel belgeli konaklama tesisleri ile çoğu zaman etkinlikleri organize eden A grubu seyahat acentaları gibi turizm işletmelerinin üst ve orta kademe yöneticilerine yüz yüze uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda toplantı yapılmasına olanak sağlayan fiziksel mekânların varlığı, kongre turizmine yönelik ürün fiyat alternatifleri ve toplantı salonlarındaki teknik donanımların varlığının önemli olduğu fakat Nevşehir'de bu özelliklerin yeterli olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Doğal güzelliklere, tarihi ve kültürel zenginliklere sahip olması, konaklama işletmelerinin sayısı, destinasyonun imajı ve güvenliği önemli olmakla birlikte Nevşehir'in bu alanlarda yeterli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre Nevşehir'de kongre ve ziyaretçi bürosu ile kongre turizmine hizmet veren işletmelerin bu alandaki ulusal/uluslararası kuruluşlara üye olmadıkları da tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this research is to determine and put into practice several new strategies that will improve and come into prominence by evaluating the existing current potential of tourism in respect to convention tourism. For this purpose, so as to develop convention tourism in the region, statistical analysis methods such as central tendency measures have been used in the source and applications. In the study, survey form was used as data collection method. The statements regarding the development of convention tourism in the survey have been formed by using the studies done in the previous subject. The survey was conducted face to face with the upper and middle level managers of tourism enterprises such as 4-star and 5-star hotel enterprises providing services to the convention events within the scope of the research, the accommodation facilities with private certificated, and to the A group travel agencies that mostly organise facilities. As a result of the research, it was determined that the existence of physical spaces that enable meetings, product price alternatives for convention tourism, and the availability of technical equipment in meeting rooms are significant but these characteristics are not sufficient in Nevşehir. Along with Nevşehir's having natural beauty, historical and cultural richness, number of hospitality enterprises, image of destination and security, they are the areas that Nevşehir is sufficient. According to findings, it is found out that convention and visitor offices in Nevşehir and convention tourism companies are not members of national / international organizations in this field.
