Yerel halk gözüyle turistik talebin kültürel mirasa etkisi: Kapadokya örneği

Abstract

UNESCO Dünya Miras Listesinde yer alan Göreme Milli Parkı ve Kapadokya Kayalık Alanlarının yoğun ziyaretçi çeken bir turistik bölge olması, turizmden kaynaklanan baskının artmasına ve kültürel miras unsurlarının etkilenmesine neden olmaktadır. Yerel halk, bu etkinin olumlu taraflarının, olumsuz taraflarına kıyasla fazla olduğunu düşünüyorsa, turizme katkı sağlama ihtimali yükselecektir. Dolayısıyla çalışmada, Kapadokya’daki turistik talebin, kültürel miras unsurlarına etkisiyle ilgili yerel halkın bakış açısı araştırılmıştır. Veriler, yüz yüze anket tekniğiyle toplanmıştır. Yerel halkın, “turizm talebinin kültürel miras unsurlarına etkisi”ne yönelik bakış açısının tespiti için likert ölçekli 18 ifadenin ortalamaları alınmıştır. ANOVA analiziyle; yerel halkın bakış açısının, demografik faktörlere göre (yaş, eğitim durumu, meslek ve ikamet yeri) farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca frekans değerleriyle; yerel halkın, Nevşehir’e özgü olarak değerlendirdiği özelliklerin, peribacası-doğal manzara, balon turu, çanak-çömlek atölyelerinin aktiviteleri ve vadi yürüyüşü olduğu; bölgenin, ziyaretçi kapasitesini karşılama düzeyine yönelik yerel halk algısının, “yeteri kadar” şeklinde olduğu; bölgede üretilen turistik ürün miktarının, turistik talebi karşılama seviyesine yönelik yerel halk algısının, “talep miktarı kadar” şeklinde olduğu görülmüştür. Nevşehir’in turistik ürünlerine olan talebin, şehrin kültürel miras unsurlarına etkisi ile ilgili yerel halk algıları incelendiğinde ise; turistik talebin bazı yönlerden olumsuz, bazı yönlerden ise olumlu etki yarattığı yönünde algıya sahip oldukları söylenebilir. Dolayısıyla, yerel halkın olumlu etki yarattığını düşündüğü aktivitelerin arttırılmasının, olumsuz etki yarattığını düşündüğü aktivitelerin ise yeniden düzenlenmesinin faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Göreme National Park and Rocky Areas of Cappadocia which are located in UNESCO World Heritage List, being a touristic region attracting many visitors, cause to increase of pressure stemming from tourism and to affect cultural heritage elements. If local people think that the positive sides of touristic effects are more than the negative sides of touristic effects, the possibility of contribution to tourism would increase. There-by in this study, the local people’s perspectives about the impact of demand for tourism in Cappadocia upon cultural heritage elements have been investigated. Data have been collected by performing face-to-face questionnaire technique. For determination of local people’s perspectives about “the impact of tourism demand upon cultural heritage”, the average of 18 expressions with Likert Scale have been taken. The local people’s perspec-tives have been determined to vary based on demographic factors (age, educational sta-tus, profession and residence) by ANOVA analysis. Also with frequency; it has been un-derstood that the specific features of Nevşehir have been considered as fairy chimneys-natural landscape, ballooning, the pottery workshop activities and hiking in the valley; the local people’s perception intended to level of serving to visitors’ capacity of touristic region has been understood as “sufficient enough”; local people’s perception intended to level of touristic demand ratio to manufactured touristic product in this region has been understood as “demanded sufficient quantity”. When the local people's perceptions are examined about the effect of touristic demand for the elements of cultural heritage of Nevşehir; It can be said that they have a kind of perception that the touristic demand has a negative effect on some aspects for the cultural heritage and a positive effect on some aspects also. That’s why, it is thought that it will be useful to increase the activities which the local people think it will have a positive effect and also it is thought that it will be useful to decrease which the local people think that they will have negative effects.
